CBSE Class 10 Passing Criteria Changed For 2019: All That You Must Know

Bhubaneswar: Giving much relief to the Class 10 students, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended the passing criteria and now they need to get only 33 per cent marks in theory and practical combined to get through the Board exam.

CBSE in a release said, “It has now been decided to extend the same passing criteria henceforth for the students of Secondary classes i.e. candidates appearing for Class X examination in 2019 onwards will have to secure overall 33% (both taken together) in the subjects to be eligible to pass that subject.”

CBSE to penalise schools

On the other hand, CBSE has recently shortlisted 1700 schools affiliated to it to penalize for violating norms as they are not allowed to register over 40 students per section but the Board found out many schools violating the norms.

CBSE class 12 exam pattern revision

A CBSE notification in this regard read, “Schools should enter number of sections and number of students which should be in consonance with the information provided on OASIS. This information should be filled very carefully in OASIS as schools will not be allowed to change the declared section/strength afterwards.”
